A calm, hands-on soap-making experience that invites you to slow down, explore natural ingredients, and discover the joy of artisan making.

Held at Studio Star’s private studio in Amberley, this small-group workshop is personally guided by JungHwa in a relaxed and creative environment.

A fun and creative cold process soap-making experience creating Studio Star’s signature pebble soaps with natural oils, herbs and additives. Suitable for beginners.

Date: Saturday, 17 October 2026 or Sunday, 18 October 2026
Time: 1pm – 4pm
Location: Studio Star, Amberley
Price: $135 per person
Group size: Maximum 6 people per session

  • Create approximately 12 of Studio Star’s signature pebble soaps (around 650g in total) while learning the basics of cold process soap-making.

    You will explore:

    • The basic steps of cold process soap-making

    • Essential oil blending

    • Working with natural colourants such as clays and herbs

    • Creating your own pebble soap combination

    Your soaps will be carefully packed and posted to you after the workshop once they are ready. Keep some for yourself or share your handmade pebble soaps as thoughtful Christmas gifts.

    • Step-by-step guidance through cold process soap making

    • All soap-making materials and ingredients

    • A selection of essential oils, clays and natural colourants to explore

    • Safety equipment and protective supplies

    • Postage for your finished soaps

    • Afternoon tea with homemade baking, coffee and a selection of teas

    • Long sleeves

    • Long trousers or a long skirt

    • Closed-toe shoes

    An apron, gloves and safety equipment will be provided.

  • Cold process soap making involves working with sodium hydroxide (lye), so safety is an important part of the workshop.

    • Participants must be aged 14 years or over

    • This workshop is not recommended for those who are sensitive to strong fragrances, have breathing difficulties, are pregnant, or have related health concerns

  • Bookings are essential.

    Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

    A minimum number of participants is required for the workshop to proceed. If the minimum number is not reached, Studio Star may reschedule or cancel the workshop. In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be provided.
